CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRIES
The Mission: to ensure that all youth, children and families have a meaningful connection to God through Epiphany's doors
Children, youth, and families are an important part of the Epiphany community. Our Children, Youth, and Family ministry provides spaces and experiences that connect youth to our church services, faith, community, and to each other.
The soft space in Epiphany's Nave offers children and families a comfortable, child-friendly environment with toys, books, and other age-appropriate materials. In the soft space, families can worship together while children move around and explore. Families in the soft space are fully present and included in worship, while supported in attending to the needs of their children, whether that's in quiet activity, comforting cuddles, or nursing in our rocking chair.
Nursery Care
Children of all agres are welcome at our services! We also recognize that both parents and children may sometimes prefer a separate space for kids to wiggle and giggle. The nursery is an place where infants and young children can express themselves, while being in community and experiencing God's love!
Nursery care is provided for infants and young children every Sunday -- except Third Sunday Family Services -- from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. The nursery is staffed by a professional, background-checked child care provider and supported by an Epiphany volunteer. All staff and volunteers in the nursery have completed the national Safe Church, Safe Communities training. On third Sundays, families are invited to join us for worship in the Nave. If you would rather attend service with your child at your side, we offer age-appropriate activity kits in the Narthex and a soft, open space with age-appropriate toys in the Nave.
Godly Play
Godly Play is offered monthly on the First Sunday of each month during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Led by trained Godly Play instructors, we exploring faith through play-based learning and meaningful conversation. Godly Play is a nationally-recognized approach to Christian formation based on the creative, imaginative and engaging principles of the Montessori method.
Third Sunday Family Service
The third Sunday each month celebrates our children, youth, and families with a Family Service at 10:30 a.m. Children and youth are invited to take direct part in worship, join the procession, and step into the Chancel.
Special Events
We host and facilitate a variety of activities geared towards families and youth. The events include the Blessing of the Backpacks, Christmas Pageant, Shrove Tuesday pancake supper, Easter Sunday egg hunt, and more! We plan our activities and outreach based on family input and feedback.
